Hour of Code at JetBrains Academy
Hour of Code is a great opportunity to explore the world of programming! This movement started as a one-hour introduction to computer science designed to demystify coding and demonstrate that anybody can learn to program. It has since become a worldwide effort supported by over 200,000 educators and 400 partners, including JetBrains.
Hour of Code is held during Computer Science Education Week every year. From December 6 to 12, we invite you to participate in the Hour Of Code movement and join millions of learners around the world in giving programming a try or polishing your existing skills.
This year, we’ve decided to show you how you can participate in Hour of Code through JetBrains Academy! Each day we’ll share new topics and projects in a particular programming language or area of study that you can complete in just an hour. Check out our lineup for Hour of Code 2021.

How do I take part in the giveaway?
Share your story about something interesting, challenging, or fun you’ve done at JetBrains Academy in one hour. It can be an insightful topic, an easy project, a particular stage of a project, or a hard-to-crack coding problem. We’ll select the lucky winners and send them a discount that can be applied to a monthly or annual subscription!
What are the requirements?
- Your post should be published on Twitter, Facebook, or Reddit. You are welcome to share your stories on other channels, like Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and TikTok, but please make sure to include a link to your Twitter, Facebook, or Reddit post.
- Add the #JetBrainsAcademy and #HourOfCode hashtags to your post so we can find you. Feel free to mention our Twitter, Facebook, and Reddit accounts.
We want you to have fun while learning, and we encourage you to be creative when sharing your programming experience! Feel free to include text, video, or photos in your post – any format you think best illustrates your experience. Our team definitely appreciates funny memes! Including them isn’t a requirement, of course, but we thought we’d mention it as a light-hearted suggestion. 🙂
When is the deadline?
We expect to see your posts during Computer Science Education Week – December 6-12. We will stop accepting submissions on December 12, 23:59 PM (UTC). The winners will be announced on December 15.
